Artist residencies are an amazing way to bring together your school, staff, organisation or community together in a positive and inspiring way.  Artist Clare Walton has worked on a number over the past few years for community organisations, schools, corporations and kindergartens.  Programs can range from straight up murals through to large scale sculptures, mosaics, and mixed media installations just for a start.

Clare works together with your organisation or school to design a project that suits your specific requirements.  Students, staff and community members are all invited to be part of the process from beginning to end.  Projects can range from one day through to 1 year, its all designed to fit in with your requirements.

Previous residencies include

  • Skinners Adventrue Playground
  • Cubbies Adventure Playground
  • St Kilda Adventure Playground
  • Ikea Fence Art Project - Ferncourt Primary School (Marrickville Sydney)
  • St Dominics Primary School
  • Ripponlea Primary School
  • St Johns Primary School
  • Yirrkala CEC School Arnhem Land

No project is too big or too small and when designing we always consider the environment and our carbon footprint so not only are our projects creative they also encourage respect and apprection of our planet.

TESTIMONIALS

Clare Walton and Tammy Knox brought their Visual Feast Creations to our classroom at Gunyangara, an annex of Yirrkala CEC last year. The ages of children in our class range from three to eight years and they have strong connections to their Yolngu culture and languages. Clare and Tammy’s creative flare, resourcefulness and ability to engage children of all ages was truly inspiring. They demonstrated a high level of cultural competency and an extraordinary capacity for working in remote settings. The technical skills they applied in multimedia presentations also provided a quality resource for our school. We look forward to further visits.

Clare and Tammy visited Yirrkala school in 2012.  They worked across the school from transition to year 9, on a variety of projects.  They provided many engaging projects that were directed at the appropriate level of the students.

I was particularly impressed with how the managed to engage a year 8/9 class of irregular attenders in a project that directly related to their class work.

I would not hesitate to recommend Clare for any project.  Should you require any further information please do not hesitate to contact me on my mobile 0428 631 429 (out of business hours) or by my work email carissa.myers@ntschools.net
